Early death concern for drop-outs - John Nicholson - 19-08-2009 [SIZE="5"][COLOR="DarkRed"]As a farmer with two farms thirty miles apart I picked up young hitch hikers and gave them a job with other young people, many of them from cities or towns had never been on a farm before. they picked up the work among pigs quickly and a large number made farming pigs a career, leaving any young person without work from fifteen to twenty leaves only a wild animal on your hands especially so with boys. reading is the only form of recreation that can keep idle hands from going insane, it is the closest way we can interact mentally, listening to radio comes second and television as the most unfulfilling of all purely because it does not require any intellectual response to use it. My Brother has been severely depressed for over five years but just lately recovered as he stopped watching television and started reading so his recovery began, but the television made his life bearable.[/COLOR][/SIZE] |
